Under his pen name, Awakened, Jay Foster's poetry focuses on the inner self and the influences that guide one's actions. He is intrigued by the joy, sadness, triumph, and struggle that life bestows upon us all on this journey called life and how we, as individuals decide to act.

About the Author

Jay Foster is a proud member of the armed forces serving in the U.S. Marine Corps for a little over 13 years. He has been stationed on both the east and west coast, Hawaii, and has served two tours in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Jay is a single father and enjoys spending time with his son Jordan. He is very passionate about being a positive role model in his son's life. His personal interests include art, history, listening to a wide genre of music, and playing and watching various sporting activities.
